After completing their 10th grade year, students have the exciting option to pursue either the Jump Start TOPS Tech Pathway or the TOPS University Pathway, and they even have the choice to explore both pathways. Decisions regarding which pathway to follow are made with the support of counseling and guidance, based on the student’s interests, abilities, and aspirations.
TOPS University Pathway
The Louisiana TOPS University Pathway is a state-funded scholarship program designed to assist eligible high school graduates in pursuing higher education at a Louisiana public college or university. To qualify, students must meet specific academic requirements during high school, which typically include maintaining a minimum GPA, achieving certain standardized test scores (e.g., ACT or SAT), and completing a specific number of core academic courses. If students meet the eligibility criteria and enroll in an eligible Louisiana public college or university, the TOPS scholarship will cover a portion of their tuition and mandatory fees.
